SOL Tours
Tours of our award-winning exhibition, The Story of Virginia, are tailored to meet the requirements of grade-specific SOLs. Choose from a comprehensive highlight tour of the entire exhibition, or delve into a specific topic.

Hands-on History
Our "History Boxes" contain reproductions of artifacts, diaries, letters, documents, and photographs. Topics include Pocahontas and the Powhatan Indians; the African American experience; westward movement; Civil War; and Virginia at the turn of the 20th century.

Wyndham B. Blanton Scholars Forum
The forum is designed to bring together high school students with nationally renowned history scholars. Named in honor of a former president of the historical society, the 2009 Blanton Scholars Forum will feature author and commentator Frank Deford. Learn how to apply

New! Free Educational Programs for Homeschoolers
The Virginia Historical Society is offering special educator-led history presentations for homeschool students. Come early, or stay after your program and enjoy the additional exhibitions. Three one-hour interactive presentations are available Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July 2009.
